At the time we began our TransAm Bike Trip journal in 2001, our only grandchild, Braden, was only 9 months old. During the time we were biking across the country, Braden grew quite a bit, celebrating his first birthday with us when we reached the Pacific coast. By the next April, 2002, he had a new baby sister, Tara Jane.
